Telecom Egypt reports 12.8% drop in 2012 profit

Telecom Egypt, the country's landline monopoly has reported a 12.8% decline in its full-year net profits to EGP2.61bn, compared to 2011, Reuters has reported. The company, which is banking on data services to offset lower fixed line income, also reported a 37.1% margin in its 2012 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), compared with 46.7% in 2011.
