Third annual Housing Development Summit Oman kicks off

Experts in housing construction and urban development from the government and private sector met in Oman for the third annual Housing Development Summit Oman held between 15 - 16 April 2013 at the Golden Tulip Seeb, Muscat.

Organised by International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC) and Global Exhibitions & Conferences LLC (GEC), the two-day event takes place at a time when the Sultanate is currently expanding its housing and residential infrastructure to meet local demands.

Conference sessions, case studies, panel discussions, construction updates and networking at the summit provided a great opportunity for experts to gain insight into the current and future projects happening in the Sultanate and its housing sector.

The keynote speaker His Excellency Mohammed Bin Salim Al Busaidi, Chairman of Oman Real Estate Association gave an overview of Oman's real estate sector, the regulatory framework and key policies governing the sector and discussed prospects for Oman's housing developments.

The two-day presentations and panel discussions cover key topics which included - Understanding the key success factors for the private sector in developing housing projects; assessing problems facing developers within the affordable housing sector; overview of the current high end residential market in the Sultanate; and latest advances in sustainable building materials and construction methods.

The Housing Development Summit Oman 2013 also featured contractors, financial institutions and materials suppliers showcasing their range of products and services for the building and construction sector. The sponsors and exhibiting companies included Berger Paints, Bank Muscat, Bahrain Prism Glass Factory and Oman Arab Bank.

The Housing Development Summit Oman 2013 is officially supported by Arab Urban Development Institute, Affordable Housing Institute, Chartered Institute of Building and the International Institute for Outsource Management
