UAE TRA hosts Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Tactical Training Program

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) hosted an 'Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management' tactical training program that took place in the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai from on 24th - 28th March 2013. The purpose of the event was to update representatives from a range of government entities as to the very latest developments concerning emergency management procedure.
"Training events such as these are critically important. The workshop provides a platform to gather insight from the industry's leading minds within the field of emergency management and in turn, share this with the key decision-makers from across the UAE government," said H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General.
"As the nation's ICT industry regulators, we consider it an organisational priority to facilitate training programs that ensure UAE government entities are at the cutting edge of the global developments. This event is a case in point. The tactical training program takes on a real practical bearing as participants are informed of the latest systems and processes to be employed during a myriad of potential crisis scenarios. Preparedness is absolutely key when thinking about emergency situations and with events such as these, the UAE is certainly making significant strides forward in this regard," he added.
Representatives from across the UAE Government entities were invited to participate in the event. Training focused on both the conceptual and practical aspects of large scale emergency situations whilst generating institutional awareness of risk assessment and emergency management procedures.
