Traffic Safety Expo 2012 commencing invites all to cross over to safety

The premier event dedicated to promoting pro-safety driving behaviour and consciousness within the region, Traffic Safety Expo 2012 commenced yesterday, 16th October, 2012 and will continue till 18th October 2012.

The expo was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Salem Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications at the Oman International Exhibition Centre at 7:00 pm.

The inauguration was graced by the presence of leading ROP officials, dignitaries and representatives from various ministries and representatives from OITE.

The 3 day event, held from 10:00 am-1:00pm and 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm on all three days, is organised by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police (ROP) under the theme Traffic Safety is Everyone's Responsibility.

Besides promoting awareness about safety and encouraging all to take up initiatives to support road safety, the latest products, services, technologies and solutions related to traffic safety will be displayed at the expo including Road Safety equipment, Fire Safety equipment and Accidents and Emergencies equipment. CSR Initiatives by Corporates and HSE demonstrations by industries in Oman will also be a part of the event.

With more than 75 local and international exhibitors participating at the Traffic Safety Expo 2012 including road safety, traffic, fire and emergency solution providers, product manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, distributors, contractors and consultants, the Traffic Safety Expo 2012 is expected to garner maximum attention and involvement over the next two days. Active representation from Ministries and Government bodies, Automotive sector, Oil and Gas sector, Banks, Insurance Companies and Business Organisations will also be prominent this year including some of the very big names from the respective industries.

In a better attempt to promote traffic psychology and the right kind of behaviour that should be followed while driving, the Traffic Safety Expo 2012 will be holding a poster drive at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on all 3 days focusing on the do's and don't's of driving, encouraging the public to adopt methods that will improve safety and minimise risks of accidents and collisions on the road.

A raffle draw will also be held at the Traffic Safety Expo and the winners will be entitled to a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Toyota Yaris. Winners for the same will be announced on the last day of the expo. Visitors may also look forward to exciting gifts and gift vouchers sponsored by Omran and Ziebart and which will be distributed at the venue.
