Dubai Metro tops 3m passengers

United Arab Emirates: 15 hours, 30 minutes ago
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has said the Dubai Metro has carried 3,492,175 passengers in two months from the start of operation on 10 stations on the Red Line from September 9 up to November 9. The highest number of passengers was recorded in Mall of the Emirates Station during the two-month period.

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is turning to private finance to pay for future work on the Dubai Metro with plans to add 240km of track and 250km of tramlines. The government is considering three forms of financing - Build Operate Transfer (BOT), Direct Public Finance (DPF), and Public Private Partnerships (PPP).
