"Travelport recognises that we are part of a highly dynamic industry, where being able to manage bookings on the go through mobile technology is a huge advantage," said Rabih Saab, President and Managing Director, Travelport, Middle East and Africa.
"Travel agents need the ability to access booking data at a moment's notice, which is why we have provided a mobile application that keeps them close to their business no matter where they are," he added.
Through Travelport Mobile Agent, travel professionals can interact with the Galileo host system remotely in an easy-to-use environment, which allows them to enhance the service they provide to customers and improve their back office processes.
Travelport Mobile Agent is the second mobile app to be launched by Travelport in the Middle East and Africa this year, confirming the company's strategic investment in mobile travel solutions. Travelport View Trip Mobile, Travelport's mobile traveller itinerary application, was released in June.
"We strive to shape the future of the travel industry through our technology," added Saab. "And with no foreseeable end to the mobile revolution that is engulfing this region, we continue to create innovative new ways to empower our customers to sell the broadest range of content however and - from now - wherever they want to," Saab concluded.
Travelport Mobile Agent was developed for Travelport by Travel Technology & Solutions and is one of the first solutions made available globally though Travelport Developer Network.
