  • PRESS RELEASE

Legendary motorcycle rider and three-times World Superbike Champion, Troy Bayliss will make a special appearance at the opening of the new Ducati Abu Dhabi showroom and service centre this Saturday (13.00 hrs, 8th September).

Members of the public are invited to come and meet the renowned Australian, who will be signing autographs and chatting to fans, as the Italian brand celebrates the opening of what is one of the biggest Ducati dealerships in the world.

Bayliss, who was previously in Abu Dhabi in February this year for the global launch of the Ducati 199 Panigale bike at Yas Marina Circuit, said, "I'm really looking forward to returning to a city that boasts such strong links to top-class motorsport. Although it may surprise some, there is a real passion for bikes in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE, so it's a real honour for me, as a Ducati ambassador, to be present at the launch of the amazing new home for Ducatisti in the capital."

Bayliss holds the record for the second highest number of World Superbike victories - his 52 wins contributing to championship titles in 2001, 2006 and 2008. He also competed in MotoGP, claiming a single race victory in Valencia, and won the British Superbike Championship in 1999, all while riding for Ducati. Bayliss retired from racing in 2008 and is now an ambassador for the prestigious Italian brand.

"Troy Bayliss is an iconic figure in the world of motorsport, so it is a privilege to be able to welcome him to Abu Dhabi for such an important event in the global history of Ducati. We hope that as many people as possible will be able to come along on Saturday to see Troy, and to experience the amazing new Ducati facility available for residents of the capital," said Khalifa Al Masaood, Director of Abdullah Al Masaood & Sons Group.

With over 1,300 sqm dedicated to the iconic Italian motorbike brand, the new facility will be Ducati's second UAE showroom - the Dubai branch was opened in 2010, also by Troy Bayliss. Located in Mussafah, at the entrance to Abu Dhabi island, the facility incorporates a dedicated showroom, workshop with a 'ride-in reception', parts and accessories area and 'Dynojet', which allows riders to test the performance of their machine.

As well as the full line-up of motorcycles, Ducati riders and enthusiasts will find a huge range of branded clothing and other accessories, all of which will be on display during the official opening, starting at 13.00 hrs this coming Saturday.

Founded in 1926, Ducati motorcycles are the purest expression of refined engineering, unmistakable design and, above all, passion for bikes. Over the years the Ducati brand has been extremely successful in international racing, winning one MotoGP title, 14 World Superbike titles, eight British Superbike titles and two AMA titles.

Ducati UAE is owned and operated by Revolutions Accessories LLC, part of Abdullah Al Masaood & Sons Group.
