UAE - UK Joint Economic Committee to meet in London

His Excellency Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the UAE Minister of Economy, and His Excellency Lord Green, UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment, will head the 3rd Joint Economic Committee next week in London.
His Excellency also mentioned that this meeting will be an ideal platform to discuss the progress on the outcomes of the 1st and the 2nd UAE-UK Economic joint committee as well as to enhance mutual trade and investment, which have reached 9.6 billion Pounds in 2011 compared to 8.9 billion Pounds in 2010. His Excellency stated this is a clear indication of the progress being achieved in the common objective of taking trade investments to 12 billion Pounds by 2015.
Al Mansoori praised the UAE's strong links with Britain, referring to some significant investments and projects in the United Kingdom such as London Array, Emirates Sky Line and the largest port in UK being developed by Dubai Ports.
The Joint Committee will witness discussions to strengthen technical cooperation and exchange of experiences, as UAE looks to benefit from the British expertise in IPR, small and medium enterprises, high-tech sector and others.
There are more than 100,000 British citizens living and working in the UAE, while more than a million British citizens visit the country each year, taking advantage of more than 140 direct flights a week.
