UAE approves Dhs44.6bn federal budget for next year

The UAE government has approved a 2013 federal budget with expenditure of Dhs44.6bn ($12.1bn) and no deficit, Reuters has reported. "The government's plan over the coming three years is to spend Dhs133bn for strategic plan development," prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum said. The UAE federal budget accounts for only around 11% of overall fiscal spending in the country, with individual emirates accounting for the rest.
