- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, September 27 - 2012 at 09:10
The UAE education ministry has announced a new set of performance indicators for teachers, as part of a comprehensive evaluation and monitoring system in public schools, Gulf News has reported. The indicators for public schools, designed by a group of expert academics, promote evidence-based learning, underscore trends in the schools and highlight problems while also offering solutions. "The performance indicators will lead to accountability, greater monitoring and evaluation of the progress not only in schools but at the ministerial level. We are setting the stage for improvement in education planning," said Dr Tayseer Al Nuaimi, advisor to the minister of education.
