UAE joins global telco satellite committee ITSO

The UAE has been elected as a member of the International Telecoms Satellite Organisation (ITSO) Advisory Committee, Wam has reported. The UAE is among a group of 21 nations to comprise this advisory committee whose objective is to further the ITSO commitment to develop a global satellite communications system. "As a progressive nation in the telecoms field and a regional leader in ICT in the Middle East, the UAE is uniquely positioned to make a significant contribution to such agendas," said Mohamad Ahmad Al-Qamzi, chairman of the Telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA). "The TRA's Spectrum Affairs department is pleased to take on this responsibility and is looking forward to being a part of this esteemed mission."
