UAE lenders' assets hit Dhs1.79trn in 2012

According to data by the UAE central bank, the combined assets of banks operating in the country rose by over Dhs129bn in 2012 to Dhs1.79trn from Dhs1.66trn at the end of 2011, Emirates 24-7 has reported. Deposits with banks fell to around Dhs1.16trn at the end of December from Dhs1.18trn at the end of November, but they remained far above their level of Dhs1.069trn at the end of 2011, the central bank said.
