UAE retail sales to grow 7% by 2016: study

Alpen Capital has said maintaining an inflow of tourists and offering a good range entertainment options will help the UAE's the retail industry see continued growth in 2013, Gulf News has reported. "We expect all the segments of the retail industry, including supermarkets and hypermarkets, airport and luxury retail, to continue experiencing healthy, sustainable growth," said Rohit Walia, executive vice chairman and CEO of Alpen Capital. The UAE is likely to witness retail sales growth of 5 to 7% by 2016, the Bahrain-based firm said.
