UAE, Unesco renew pact for education centre

An agreement has been signed between the UAE and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) on the operation of the Sharjah-based Regional Centre for Educational Planning (RCEP), Wam has reported. The centre was established in the UAE on October 17, 2003., and the hosting arrangement was renewed for the first time in 2008 and under the latest agreement, it has been renewed for another four-year period, said Humaid Mohammad Al Qutami, the UAE education minister and chairman of the RCEP.
