UAE's ad spend rose to $1.58bn in 2012

According to a report by Pan Arab Research Centre (Parc), the UAE has retained its ranking as the top advertising market in the region for 2012 with some ease, with an ad spend totalling $1.58bn against the $1.44bn in 2011, Gulf News has reported. The upturn in consumer sentiments in the UAE was clearly in evidence during the fourth quarter, when combined ad spend totalled $441m and well above the $397m in the third quarter and $396m in the second, the report said. Saudi Arabia came second with 8% growth to $1.42bn, followed by Egypt which recorded a 17% gain to $1.12bn despite the tense political situation during the better part of the year, the report added.
