UAE'S top career fair to launch 'Year of Emiratisation'
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 14 - 2013 at 13:56
- PRESS RELEASE
The UAE's leading job fair will be the catalyst for the 'year of Emiratisation', following a declaration made by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that 2013 will be filled with opportunities for young Emiratis seeking to join the UAE labour force.
The three-day event boasts an employer line-up covering a vast range of sectors including finance, recruitment, oil and gas, retail, telecommunications, IT, media, transport and logistics, industrial and manufacturing, investment, defense and security, and health and insurance.
Hayete Jemai, exhibition director at Tawdheef, said, "As the UAE's leading career fair, Tawdheef has always focused on developing a unique platform to support the UAE government's strategic plan to boost Emiratisation and help create jobs for young UAE nationals."
"Every year we attract an impressive line-up of hiring organisations, from small start-up private companies to large government institutions, and because all organisations participating at the show currently have open positions for Emiratis, we can ensure that an impressive variety of career options will be available for eager job hunters," Hayete added.
Major organisations participating at Tawdheef include Titanium Sponsor, The Presidential Guard, Platinum Sponsors National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police, and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank; Gold Sponsors Du, ADNOC and Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority; Silver Sponsor Etihad Airways and Khalifa Fund, and Registration Sponsor Abu Dhabi Airports Company.
Meanwhile several participating headline companies have already stated their intent to place extra emphasis to the 'year of Emiratisation', by revealing how many job positions they will be offering at the dedicated career fair on the Tawdheef website.
Among them are Al Mansoori Specialised Engineering with 900-1000 jobs, Standard Chartered Bank with 30 jobs, Oasis Hospital with 15 jobs and Petrofac Emirates with 20 jobs, all looking to meet, interview and recruit male and female Emiratis. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Emirati women are highly demanded in the private sector because many employers believe they are harder working and keen to prove themselves.
Jemai added, "We are aware of the importance of female labour forces among UAE nationals, which is why we always make sure that our female visitors are given exclusive timings, in addition to the mixed sessions, in order for them to meet recruiters and get the chance to hunt the job they are looking for in a more comfortable atmosphere."
Tawdheef is open from 10am-7pm daily, with the morning of 30 January from 10am - 1pm reserved for Emirati ladies only. Entrance is restricted to UAE national job seekers from 10am - 4pm, while all other nationalities can attend from 4 pm onwards. Pre-registration is mandatory for non Emiratis and is available online.
