From carbon fibre chairs to classical tableware, from ultra modern lighting to award winning calligraphy, we have it all under the UK design and innovation umbrella. Last year more than 27,000 visitors and 900 exhibitors from 94 countries attended the event, and I am happy to say British companies have always been one of the main attractions of Index."
British Exhibitors at Index offer a complete range of products relating to interior design, furniture, furnishings, wall-coverings, floor-coverings, lighting, artwork, accessories and many more specialised goods and services.
British Contract Furnishing Association's (BCFA) International Project Manager, Sue Graves, said "British quality and design is greatly respected in the Middle East and our group maintains a consistent exhibitor level at Index even though many companies have now appointed distributors or agents throughout the region. We are proud to have brought a UK group out to this prestigious show since its inception. Once again we have many exciting new companies in our group who are first-timers to this market and we are also delighted to welcome a Northern Ireland Design presence this year".
Mike Allsopp, Senior Vice President (Design) DMG Events, the organiser of Index Exhibitions, welcomed the British companies to Index 2012 and said, "Index is the largest event of its kind in the region and this is a wonderful place to showcase new design and the latest innovation in the building and interior design sector. In the Middle East, British design, manufacturing and expertise are highly respected and valued. This is one of the main reasons Britain has always successfully traded in the region and Index is the perfect place for British companies to start and strengthen their business in the Middle East. We are grateful that UKTI has been supporting BCFA and Index for more than 20 years now. We wish UK companies all the best."
