Umniah announces unprecedented partnerships and projects during MENA ICT Forum 2013

In line with its vision on the leading role assigned to the IT sector, Umniah Telecom unveiled several strategic partnerships and projects during the MENA ICT Forum 2013. The first announcement was its partnership with Plug&Play Tech Center - one of the largest and most prominent business incubators in the Silicon Valley.
Umniah announced these partnerships and projects in a press conference held during the second day of the MENA ICT Forum 2013,that was organized by the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Int@j), and in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT) and the Arab ICT Organization (ijma3), and with support from the United States Agency for International Development - USAID.
This forum gathered more than 100 participants between leaders and decision makers from the region and the world, where they discussed the challenges and opportunities of changes and developments in the Sector.
In addition to these announcements, Umniah, represented by its CEO Ihab Hinnawi and several members of its employees, participated in the event and sessions of the forum that discussed the latest developments and trends of the sector especially in the field of integrating technology into the economic sectors and the revolution of broadband internet services.
The CEO of Umniah Ihab Hinnaw,i commented, "These projects are evidence of Umniah's continuous efforts to develop the sector by offering the latest technologies and services to respond to the needs of the users. Our partnership with Plug & Play confirms our interest in the entrepreneurship environment in Jordan and our assistance to entrepreneurs in the sector in order to upgrade their projects into a global level."
Regarding its partnership with 'Plug&Play', Umniah announced that this is an unprecedented partnership assigning Umniah as the only company partnering with this center in Jordan that will bridge the Country to Silicon Valley, in order to assist local leading entrepreneur companies to obtain support and training opportunities at the Center.
'Plug&Play' is one of the most important and famous business incubators in the Silicon Valley providing support and training to companies and enabling them to communicate with start up companies and experts in the Silicon Valley.
As for theIP gateway, Umniah's Director of Marketing Omar Al-Omoush explained that Umniah established a partnership with Reliance Globalcom, one of the leading submarine cable companies in the region and the world, which will directly connect Umniah to the global internet network to meet the growing needs and demands for broadband internet in Jordan.
Umniah also unveiled the expansion of its very own Security Operations Center including and for the first time Clean Pipe Internet and DDoS Protection services, offering better services and information security solutions to companies and organizations from various economic sectors, in light of the growing risk of network and cyber attacks around the world.
Regarding Umniah being the first to launch 4G LTE service in Jordan, Umniah confirmed the success of its live tests in cooperation with its strategic partner Huawei, the leading global information and communications technology solutions and equipment provider. 4G LTE is the latest advancement in the world of technology today aimed at quadrupling the speed of wireless internet access, reaching an internet speed of 130 Mbps.
By these successful practical tests, Umniah achieves precedence in the local telecom market demonstrating its ability to shift to providing a new generation of networks for wireless Internet, and to provide its subscribers and corporate sectors with the latest, fastest and most advanced broadband internet technologies.
It is worth mentioning that Umniah reminded the audience of its first of its kind strategic partnership with Skype,providing its subscribers with benefits and additional capacities on their packages depending on the technology of 'evo'" 3.75G. This service will provide more voice and video calls to and from Skype in Jordan and around the world, and without deducting from their loading bundles.
