UNB achieves three ISO recognitions by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance

Union National Bank was recognized with three ISO recognitions during the month of April 2013. The ISO recognition was presented to the UNB CEO Mr. Mohammad Nasr Abdeen by LRQA Business Manager and Area General Manager for MEA, Mr. Basem Obaid.
The scope of UNB's enterprise wide risk management framework for ISO 31000:2009 includes 'adoption of enterprise wide integrated risk management principles and guidelines covering operational, market and credit risks for the complete range of banking products and services as well as related processes and procedures across all the business and support functions'.
The implementation of these standards demonstrates that UNB's enterprise wide risk management practices are comparable with internationally recognized benchmarks, providing sound principles for effective risk governance and assurance to internal and external stakeholders.
UNB is also the first Bank in the region to be verified for adopting the guidelines of ISO 10002 for handling of customer complaints by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
The scope of UNB's ISO 10002 certification covers handling of customer complaints at all Business and Support units across UNB Group in the UAE.
UNB group's sales arm M/s Injaz Marketing Management has become the first Marketing Company in the region to be certified to Integrated Management System, covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
The scope of Injaz Marketing's IMS certification covers Provision of sales and marketing services related to conventional and Islamic banking products for individuals and institutions on behalf of UNB and its subsidiaries.
UNB has always believed in spreading best practices across the Group. After getting certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 during 2011, it has successfully cascaded the certifications to its other subsidiaries, Union Brokerage Company and Al Wifaq Finance Company earlier in 2012.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulla Al Rashedi, SVP & Head of Management Services Group from UNB, commented, "We are very pleased to be conferred with the latest LRQA recognitions which truly demonstrate UNB Group's commitment to continual improvement and Business Excellence.
