- PRESS RELEASE
The United States Kurdistan Business Council (USKBC) is visiting the Kurdistan Region's capital, Erbil, on the largest ever trade mission of U.S. businesses to the region.
"Our meetings with the ministers were extremely positive," USKBC President David Tafuri said. "The members of the USKBC are committed to the development of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and this was the message they delivered to the Kurdistan Regional Government."
During the meetings, KRG ministers outlined for USKBC members the business climate in the Kurdistan Region, and encouraged members to pursue new projects detailed by the regional government. The ministers also expressed their appreciation to the USKBC members for their investments and their contributions to the Kurdistan economy.
On October 16, the USKBC has more meetings with ministers and will sponsor a business seminar, entitled "U.S. Business in Kurdistan," at the Erbil International Fair Ground. Government officials and business people from both the United States and the Kurdistan Region will speak at the conference.
"The ministers had a very good and mutually beneficial meeting with the USKBC delegation," Minister Falah Bakir, the KRG Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, said. "We look forward to continue working closely with the USKBC and supporting U.S. business interests in our region," he added.
