Vice Chairman of Supreme Council of Energy meets Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has met HE Mohammed Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry of the State of Qatar during the fourth General Conference of the Arab Union of Electricity held in Doha, Qatar during 7-9 January 2013. During the meeting, the two sides discussed aspects of cooperation and ways of building on a series of discussions of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by HE Ahmad Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Energy, and from DEWA, Hussain Essa Ibrahim Lootah, EVP of Transmission Power, Rashid Bin Humaidan, EVP of Distribution Power, Waleed Salman, EVP of Strategy & Business Development, and Ahmed Abdullah, Deputy Senior Manager of External Communications.
By invitation of Kahramaa, the delegation has participated in the conference with a keynote speech to outline DEWA's pioneering experience in reducing losses in generating, transmitting and distributing electricity.
The conference is held along with seminars on investment opportunities within the electricity sector in Arab nations and the Seventh Exhibition of Electrical Equipment and Installations in the Arab World organized by Kahramaa and the Arab League. DEWA demonstrated its performance based on globally-benchmarked standards, its key performance indicators, the efficiency of its operations as a service, and its vision is to be become a sustainable world-class utility.
The conference, seminar and exhibition witnessed a large number of participants from senior officials in the public and private sectors in the Arab countries and other countries, as well as officials, vendors of electricity solutions and smart grids, as well as researchers and related sectors of electricity, renewable energy and smart grids in the Arab world, experts and other industry observers from all over the world.
The conference coincides with a symposium and exhibition accompanying the events, with the Arab Ministerial Congress for electricity in the League of Arab States, which regularly takes place at its Executive Office at the same time.
