Visa reports 23% rise in Eid Al Fitr transactions

Visa Inc. has reported a 23% year-on-year increase in the number of international sales transactions during Eid Al Fitr (August 20 to September 9, 2012) in the UAE, as total sales and cash disbursements reached a record of $932m, Khaleej Times has reported. International Domestic sales transactions rose by 16%, compared to the similar period in 2011, Visa said. The overall figure, combining international and domestic sales transactions, led to a combined sales increase of 17% for the period, it said.
