VIVA Bahrain's Andrew Hanna appointed as Chairman of Samena Council's CMO Committee

Samena Telecommunications Council, the tri-regional, non-profit industry association of the leading telecommunications organizations, has appointed Andrew Hanna, Chief Commercial Officer of VIVA Bahrain as the Chairman of its 'CMO Committee'.
The CMOC will comprise of CMOs or equivalent commercial business leaders from regional telecommunications operators, strategy consultants, strategic suppliers, representatives from regulatory agencies and an executive board.
The committee will tap into its members' diverse experiences to reinterpret the impact of global marketing trends within the Samena region, generate unique perspectives on how to shape the marketing outreach of regional telecommunications industry, and influence regulatory agenda to ensure a successful environment for new and innovative value creation.
Bocar BA, President of Samena Telecommunications Council, said, "VIVA Bahrain was the first telecom provider to join the Samena CMO Committee and the appointment of Andrew Hanna, with all his experience and knowledge gained over the years with VIVA and Batelco, as the Chairman of the Committee was a coherent and plausible decision by the Samena Board. I welcome Andrew aboard and look forward to the Committee realizing the great potential that it holds, benefiting the regional telecommunications industry for the long-term."
Expressing his pleasure at the appointment, and stressing on the important role the CMO Council has entrusted him with, Andrew Hanna, Chief Commercial Officer at VIVA Bahrain commented, "The CMO council will provide a platform for sharing the best practices, innovations and ideas in the industry. I am honoured with this appointment which comes with great responsibility, and excited to spearhead efforts to position the CMO Council as the apex body in telecommunications marketing. The committee will meet quarterly and will provide a forum to maximize opportunities for cross-fertilization and exchange of ideas between the committee members resulting in industry-wide position papers and viewpoints leading to shared perspectives, certain points that haven't been agreed upon, call to action and future visions.
