VIVA continues its social media leadership with Twitter innovation

VIVA, the Kingdom's most innovative telecom provider, reaffirmed its social media leadership by ranking 1st amongst all telecom operators in Bahrain in the number of Twitter followers, reaching an outstanding 14,240.
To celebrate its 3rd Anniversary, VIVA recently introduced its 'Tweet for a Treat' machine, which is the first-of-its-kind not only in Bahrain, but in the region.
The unique vending machine, which takes payment through tweets, has rewarded over 1,000 social media users with fantastic prizes ranging from recharge cards, to notepads and smartphones, and has proven to be a hit amongst the public.
VIVA also recently launched the competition 'Retweet for a Treat' for customers to be able to win a brand new Blackberry Z10. To enter the competition, all customers have to do is follow VIVA's twitter account @VIVA_BH, and simply retweet VIVA's Z10 tweet of the day using the hashtag #VIVABBZ10, where they will automatically enter into a raffle draw to win one of three BlackBerry Z10 devices. The winners of the competition will be announced on the 20th of March via Twitter.
"VIVA recognizes the importance of social media and the great impact it has in our relationship with our customers," commented Andrew Hanna, VIVA's Chief Commercial Officer, "We utilize effectively the different social media tools to engage with our customers and maintain an active dialogue which allows us to receive their feedback immediately. VIVA has established wide presence on social and digital platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, Google + and more. The company's efforts in elevating the way it communicates with its customers have proven to be successful, evident through the increase in the number of Twitter followers to over 14,240 from only 600 in the beginning of September 2010, and the number of Facebook likes to 59,000 from only 6,000 in September 2010.
