VIVA signs five year sponsorship agreement with Kuwait Football Association

VIVA, Kuwait's fastest-growing telecom operator, announced a five-year partnership with the Kuwait Football Association (KFA).

VIVA was announced the exclusive sponsor of all national football teams that fall under KFA and the Kuwaiti league for the 2013-2014 to 2017-2018 football seasons.

The official partnership announcement took place during a press conference held yesterday at the Regency Hotel, Al Bidaa. The partnership signifies VIVA role as the supporter of the Kuwaiti football teams in regional and international competitions. VIVA also took this opportunity to confirm its commitment towards supporting various sport events and raising Kuwait's name sporting events as well as developing Kuwaiti football through supporting the local football league.

The agreement was signed by KFA's Chairman, Sheikh Dr. Talal Al Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and VIVA's Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Badran during the press conference.

Commenting on the agreement, KFA's Chairman, Sheikh Dr. Talal Al Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah stated: "Kuwait has a special passion for football, therefore, partnering with a company that shares the same passion for this sport, such as VIVA, is essential to guarantee a successful and fruitful partnership. This partnership is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and we are certain that granting this sponsorship to such an innovative company will open the doors of opportunity for more players to take on this profession, on the local and international front."

Sheikh Talal added, "This sponsorship will allow players to shine in Kuwaiti clubs' fields and we look forward to meeting new faces that will contribute to developing the future of Kuwaiti football."

Sheikh Talal pointed out that this sponsorship will apply to the participation of the various Kuwaiti football teams in friendly and official matches, including the premier national football team, substitute, Olympic, youth, or junior football teams, in addition to closed field, beach football and female football teams.

VIVA's Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Badran said: "We are very proud to be the first telecom operator to make such a significant sponsorship in the sports field. This also marks the continuation of our collaboration with KFA that was initiated in 2011. The sports sector has been one of the company's main strategy focuses since its inception, and this sponsorship falls within that strategy. VIVA will spare no efforts in supporting the various Kuwaiti teams in Gulf, regional and international tournaments."

VIVA enjoys a prominent track record of sports sponsorships that includes former agreements made with renowned international football teams; Manchester United Football Club and Real Madrid.
