Vodafone Egypt selects Ericsson for mobile broadband upgrade

Vodafone Egypt has selected Ericsson to supply new radio network equipment as part of its mobile broadband upgrade plan. The deal will see Vodafone deploy Ericsson's RBS 6000 base station, which folds multiple RAN interfaces from GSM and EDGE, to WCDMA, HSPA and LTE into one box. The system is designed to help operators like Vodafone minimise the expense of transitioning to new mobile technologies.
