Vodafone Qatar presents new chief executive

The Doha-based QE 20 Index added 0.50% to reach 8,409.33 points Wednesday. The bourse's heavyweight Industries Qatar jumped 2% to reach QR155.60. Vodafone Qatar slipped 0.56% to QR8.85. Vodafone Qatar has announced that they will appoint a new CEO from June 2013. Kyle Whitehill will take over responsibility for the company from Richard Daly who will be returning home to the UK for family reasons. "Mr. Whitehill will join Vodafone Qatar from Vodafone Ghana where he has been Chief Executive Officer since 2010," said Qatar's second telecom operator behind Ooredoo. Doha Bank share fell 0.11% to QR43.55. in the first quarter of 2013, the lender earned a net profit of QR395.3m in comparison to QR390m for the corresponding period in 2012. Earnings per Share amounted to QR1.79 (QR1.77 in Q1 2012).
