Volkswagen Middle East appoints new Managing Director

Volkswagen Middle East announces the appointment of its new regional Managing Director, Mr. Thomas Milz. Mr. Milz has worked for Volkswagen for 20 years and has relocated to the Middle East from Volkswagens head office in Wolfsburg.

During his time with Volkswagen Mr. Milz has worked in Europe and spent eight years at Volkswagen of America.

Mr. Milz takes over from his predecessor Mr. Stefan Mecha, and brings with him a broad range of expertise from production to sales, business strategy and dealer operations.

Commenting on his new position Mr. Milz, Managing Director Volkswagen Middle East, said, "I am delighted to be the incoming Managing Director for Volkswagen Middle East. I look forward to working with the Volkswagen Middle East team and its dealer partners throughout the region building on the success that has been achieved to-date. Recent sales figures report 24% sales growth between January to September year-to date, with September 2012 being the strongest sales month in the history of Volkswagen Middle East."

In September 2012 Volkswagen Middle East launched the Polo Sedan, completing the Sedan segment of models available in the region. The latest model follows the Passat and Jetta, both of which have been well received by customers throughout the region.

"Volkswagen Middle East has achieved great success over the last 12 months and I look forward to building on this achievement and driving Volkswagen forward to achieve its aim of being the number one volume car manufacturer in the world by 2018," concluded Mr. Milz.
