Vormetric selects StarLink to be its Middle East VAD

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, February 10 - 2013 at 10:26
  • PRESS RELEASE

StarLink, the Middle East's trusted security-specialized Value-Added-Distributor, and a pioneer in the region's database auditing and monitoring space, announced its Master distribution partnership with Vormetric.

Vormetric Data Security solutions enable enterprises to protect the data that matters with encryption and key management across physical, virtual and cloud environments. Enterprises can deploy Vormetric products to secure and control access to heterogeneous databases, Big Data, and unstructured data repositories. Under this new agreement, StarLink will exclusively distribute Vormetric's solutions to resellers across the Middle East to extend StarLink's database security capabilities.

"Vormetric's database encryption solution transparently secures heterogeneous databases delivering performance and scale in physical, virtual or cloud environments with no changes to any applications, across Linux, Unix, and Windows servers," explains Nidal Othman, Managing Director at StarLink. "Unlike alternative solutions that require changes to the database or storage environment, Vormetric's solution encrypts and decrypts the databases and unstructured data in a way that is transparent to the database and application. This minimizes performance overhead, provides a separation of duties, and lowers costs through centralized key and policy management", concluded Mr. Othman.

"Enterprises in the Middle East are being required to protect an increasing amount of data, be it for regulatory compliance requirements or to prevent intellectual property breaches. Until now, using encryption to secure large datasets has been hindered by performance overhead and scalability constraints," said Paul Ayers, Vice President of EMEA Sales at Vormetric. Mr. Ayers continued, "We are looking forward to working closely with StarLink's experienced staff of IT security professionals to expand our presence across the Middle East. They have significant data security and encryption expertise, on-the-ground resources across the region, an extensive reseller channel network and robust enterprise customer relationships."
