Wataniya plans to boost revenue from data services

Kuwait telecoms operator Wataniya has said it wants internet services to provide a quarter of revenue within two years, amid fierce competition from rival mobile companies, Reuters has reported. The firm is already reworking its internet plans after the government said it could launch next-generation networks, said Wataniya chief executive, Bassam Hannoun. Earlier this month, Kuwait's communications ministry gave the green light to allow the Gulf country's three main mobile operators to launch long-term evolution (LTE) or 4G services.
