Western Region Development Council conducts school visits in line with the Sonaa Al Ghad project

The Western Region Development Council (WRDC) has recently organized field trips in partnership with various entities namely Abu Dhabi University and Bainounah Institute of Science and Technology to all secondary schools located in Al Gharbia for a period of one week.
The field trips were aimed at disseminating and promoting awareness on constructive career planning, based on the demands of the current job market in Al Gharbia. During the course of the field trip, representatives from Abu Dhabi University showcased a presentation focusing on the University's scholarship programs in addition to a presentation given by Bainounah Institute of Science and Technology highlighting the various educational courses offered at the institute.
These efforts are concentrated on diverting student's interests towards science majors to occupy job vacancies in oil, gas and alternative energy sectors. The institute also introduced new scholarship programs and English courses for minimum fees in order to upscale the efficiency of students in Al Gharbia.
Mohamed Ebrahim Al Hosani, Regional Development Director at WRDC said: "This initiative taken by WRDC is yet another step in our commitment to elevating the local manpower competencies in Al Gharbia in addition to attracting and retaining potential candidates that will ultimately join the Al Gharbia workforce. This project is in line with the Council's keenness to achieve the Al Gharbia 2030 Master Plan together with our valued stakeholders."
He added: "We are thrilled to be part of a project that is heavily supported by strategic partners that believe in our cause and we are confident that together we will reach new heights for achieving prosperity in Al Gharbia."
