WhatsApp denies reports about acquisition by Google

Cross-platform instant messaging service provider WhatsApp has denied reports it was in talks over a possible $1bn acquisition by Google Inc., AllThingsD has reported. The denial followed a report from DigitalTrends.com claiming talks have been continuing for more than a month. The business development head of WhatsApp, Neeraj Arora, said that the company is in fact "not holding sales talks with Google." WhatsApp processes up to 18 billion messages per day and is currently available in 100 countries on 750 mobile networks.
