Wikipedia set to launch travel site this week

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has announced plans to launch a crowd-sourced global travel guide this week to serve the public, especially those travellers on the road, PC Magazine has reported. Wikivoyage has been in beta form under the Wikimedia umbrella and is expected to officially launch on Tuesday, said Wales. Once live, the new wiki will be open to any internet reader who wants to create, update, edit, or illustrate any article on the site.
