- PRESS RELEASE
The Center for New Cinema (CNC) announced that the Cinematic Innovation Summit — the world's first summit dedicated entirely to the future of cinematic technologies — will be re-scheduled for December 2013. The pioneering summit, which is a collaboration among CNC, the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and naseba, will now be the lead-in event to DIFF's decennial anniversary, a landmark occasion itself.
The Cinematic Innovation Summit will spotlight advances coming in cinematic technology whilst illuminating the economic value of such technology for multiple sectors: software, telecom, video gaming, advertising, and even industries like healthcare, defense, and oil exploration.
CNC President John B. Davis said: "The ways in which movies are made, exhibited, and experienced are all undergoing significant change. Driving this change is technology — allowing visuals never before imagined and a viewing experience that in some ways is becoming virtually limitless. This all holds major implications for the movie business, from directors and actors to studios and theatres. It will also profoundly impact a vast array of associated industries that hold strategic stakes in cinema's future. The Cinematic Innovation Summit will provide a glimpse over the horizon at what's to come for all these sectors, as well as for audiences. In line with the event's focus on the future of cinematic technology, participants will get to see and experience things they have not before."
