- PRESS RELEASE
Zain Bahrain has taken its environmental awareness work a step further this year by working closely with schools in the Kingdom. The telecoms leader, which has already invested in the one-of-its-kind Zain National Mobile Phone and e-Waste Recycling Campaign is involving schools and students in wide-ranging green efforts to reach the message of a clean and pollution-free Bahrain to the younger generation.
The students pledged to adopt the 3Rs of the environment movement and also to place skips to segregate glass, plastic and paper in their school.
Continuing its support of youth awareness of green issues Zain Bahrain sponsored a painting contest spearheaded by the Al Iman School which was held on the 23rd of December. A total of 28 schools participated in the event and there were 51 student entries. All the paintings depicted environmental issues.
"Channeling art and creativity to take forward the message of environmental awareness has always been very effective and Zain Bahrain is delighted that the painting contest to promote the 'go green' message was so successful," said Corporate Communications Manager Samya Hussein.
"Young people are the inheritors of the planet and we must work with them to instill good habits of environmental sensitivity in GenNext. By disseminating this knowledge to the public and especially to children and youth, we believe we can inspire them to actively participate in making Bahrain greener and cleaner."
