Zain KSA's quarterly loss rose to $131m

  • Saudi Arabia: Wednesday, October 17 - 2012 at 03:41

Troubled telecom operator Zain Saudi has blamed a move in call traffic from international to national calls for the widening of its net loss in the third quarter, Reuters has reported. The Saudi affiliate of Kuwait's Zain made a net loss of SR493m ($131m) in the three months to September 30, compared with a net loss of SR484m in the year-earlier period. "The principal reason for the increase in the net loss... has been the rebalancing of significant volumes of traffic from international to national destinations," the firm said.
