- PRESS RELEASE
Zain, telecommunication company in Kuwait, has selected Aircom International, independent network planning and optimisation solutions provider, to provide greater insight, through in-depth profiling, into the performance of its entire network.
The smartphone benchmarking element of the project was designed to investigate behavioural analysis of how specific devices were impacting Zain's network resources and the quality of the service.
The resulting data was used to optimise network resources to accommodate for specific device traits. These included analysis of call type, time usage, call attempts, dropped and blocked call rates.
By collating and processing this data, Aircom was able to make recommendations on how to improve the performance of specific devices on Zain's network.
Zain also benefitted from Aircom undertaking a comprehensive inter-operator network benchmarking analysis. This ensured that Zain is offering the best possible service to its customers across all of its networks - GSM, WCDMA, HSPA and HSPA+.
In order to ascertain a complete competitor comparison, Aircom collected measurements by drive and boat testing across the entire country, including its off-shore maritime areas, spanning a total of over 21,800 km.
In addition, Aircom carried out a complete audit of Zain Kuwait's current network, from the process and procedures used in network planning to a full network performance analysis.
Aircom's recommendations included new features and enhancements that are to ensure the best quality of service for Zain Kuwait's customers.
Omar Al-Omar, CEO Zain Kuwait, said, "Zain Kuwait is committed to further build on its leading market position. We are committed to deliver the best possible user experience, offering the best quality of service through the most reliable network. Partnering with Aircom will help us sustain our superior and differentiated network QoS and stay abreast all new device innovation."
Alwyn Welch, CEO at Aircom, said, "With smartphones fast becoming the norm around the globe, it's important for operators to make sure their networks can handle huge amounts of data - not only by embracing new technology, but also by making sure every aspect of the network is optimised".
He added, "We are delighted to be helping Zain Kuwait gain deeper insight into its network performance and enhance its network assets to prepare for future challenges. Our relationship with Zain Kuwait has evolved constantly and we look forward to helping with the next stage of its evolution."
