Zain Group participates in the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona

The operator is being represented by a senior delegation headed by the Group's Chairman Asaad al-Banwan, its Group CEO Scott Gegenheimer, together with a number of senior executives from Zain's operations across the Middle East and North Africa.

Zain's participation in the Mobile World Congress is important given that the event represents the most prominent industry meeting of the year, and is a destination for all significant mobile telecommunications industry players to assemble.

Through its presence at Mobile World Congress, Zain seeks to interact with industry pioneers and visionaries in order to gain useful insights that can then help support its own pioneering position in the markets in which it operates. Zain executives have participated extensively in meetings and discussions with a wide range of partners and providers in order to identify the latest trends driving the next phase of growth within the mobile industry.

The successful launch of LTE in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait (nationwide) places Zain within an elite group of operators globally to have launched the technology commercially, and the company's presence at Mobile World Congress allows it to discuss its experiences implementing the technology and gain additional information about LTE's development.

Zain Group is also actively assessing new convergence strategies with the aim of further helping the Group to continue growing the scope of its own operations and maintaining its competitive advantages in the markets in which it operates.
