Abu Dhabi says its vegetables are free from E-Coli

Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority has said that all vegetables and fruits in the emirate's markets are free from E-Coli, Wam has reported. The announcement follows concerns over an outbreak of the life-threatening bacterium in contaminated cucumbers that have affected people in Europe. "The Authority has instructed its food safety officials to immediately reach out to the markets to pick up samples of imported vegetables and fruits and to subject them to the required tests," Mohamed Jalal Al Reyaysa, director of communication and community service at ADFCA, said.
