Agthia has said that work has started on a food complex with a flour mill, as the firm seeks to ensure the UAE's food security. The Al Wathba Mega Production and Distribution Complex project will be the new site for Agthia subsidiary Grand Mills for Flour and Feed's mill, with an initial structure to be built at a cost of Dhs48m ($13m) to Dhs50m. The plant is set to begin operations in Q4 of 2011. Additionally, the complex will house wheat grain silos for both Grand Mills' needs and the government of Abu Dhabi food security needs.
