Al Mansouri to lead global excellence speakers at Dubai Chamber

November 24 event will see the launch of the 9th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award

H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, and Chairman of the Award Panel of Judges, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award, will lead a team of global excellence speakers at the Dubai Chamber International Conference launching of the 9th cycle of the award on November 24 at Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights.

Al Mansouri will open the International Conference which is organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry with his welcome speech on “The Innovation Economy: Nurturing an Ecosystem for Innovation, Excellence, and Value Creation”. His talk will address both the microeconomic and macroeconomic fundamentals of developing a sustainable innovation-based ecosystem in the face of today’s ever progressive global landscape.

The UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Award Panel of Judges, said that his Ministry is cooperating with various authorities in the country to develop and adopt innovative culture in their organisations.

He called upon UAE companies to contribute towards enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy by accelerating the process of shifting towards a knowledge-based economy founded on creativity and innovation and to encourage the creation of a commercially-viable environment which is a catalyst for innovation and the adoption of best corporate practices.

H.E. Al Mansouri added: “Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the subsequent announcement by the UAE Federation under the Chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, declaring 2015 as the Year of innovation and the launch of the National Innovation Strategy which includes 30 national initiatives to stimulate innovation in seven sectors: renewable energy, transport, education, health, technology, water and space to be implemented over three years, will put the UAE among ten most innovative nations in the world within seven years.

“These intensified efforts will help enhance coordination between government agencies and the private sector at the Federal and local levels and will also lead to creating a stimulating environment for innovation while making the UAE a leading centre of innovation as we aspire the UAE and Dubai to become centre of creativity and innovation in the world,” he said.

H.E. Al Mansouri further stated that the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award with its emphasis on excellence and innovation has continuously promoted a culture of excellence in the UAE and the GCC region. Over its last eight cycles, the award has honoured the winners for their ability to excel locally, regionally and internationally while offering an invaluable learning journey for all its participants.

He called upon UAE and GCC companies’ representatives to participate in the upcoming International Conference for the launch of the award’s 9th cycle which is bringing together global business leaders, innovators and policy makers and an impressive line-up of world-renowned business excellence speakers who will provide conceptual and practical insights into the means and impacts of developing a sustained eco-system for innovation, excellence and value creation.

The Minister of Economy lauded the role of Dubai Chamber in launching the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award which he said has succeeded in stimulating the business community to adopt best business practices, and the concepts of innovation and excellence while enhancing the competitiveness and excellent business environment in the country.

The UAE Minister’s inaugural speech will be followed by a select panel of internationally renowned business excellence speakers including amongst others, Dr. Jean-Eric Aubert, Former Lead Specialist at The World Bank and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Jonathon Oliver, Global Head of Innovation, Microsoft, Tristan Kromer, a well-known Entrepreneur, Lean Start-up Coach, and Innovation Ecosystem Designer from Silicon Valley, US, Sunil Sinha, Resident Director, Tata Sons MENA, and Khalid Al Khudair, Founder and CEO, Glowork, KSA.
