Alba Chairman and Alba Trade Union celebrate Bahrain National Day

Alba’s Chairman officially inaugurated the new ATU headquarter at the Company’s premises.

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)’s Chairman of Board of Directors Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa was the guest of honour during the Alba Trade Unions (ATU)’s celebration of Bahrain National Day which was held today, December 14, 2015.

Held under the patronage of Alba’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa, the event was attended by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Labour Sabah Al-Doseri, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Dr. Moh’d Al Ansari, Chairman of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Union Sayed Salman Al Mahfood as well as members of the Company’s Executive Management, Directors and Managers. The celebration was also attended by other major companies’ Union members and high officials from the Ministry of Labour.

During the celebration, Alba’s Chairman officially inaugurated the new ATU headquarter at the Company’s premises.

On this occasion, Alba’s Chairman Shaikh Daij said:
“I extend my heartiest congratulations to the Leadership of Bahrain for the great strides and accomplishments made by the Kingdom over the last forty years. I am also happy to announce the official inauguration of the Alba Trade Union’s office inside Alba premises. It is our endeavour to have the equal presence of both Unions in Alba in accordance with the Union law of Bahrain. We look forward to working with the Union and supporting initiatives and ideas that protect the interest of our employees, our company, our shareholders and the national economy.”

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, Sabah Al Doseri, added: “It is such a great pleasure to join Alba in celebrating Bahrain’s National Day. We are glad to see the employees united thanks to the initiatives and support of Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors. Alba’s employees are the true strength of the Company which made it one of the leading aluminium smelters in the world.”

In addition, Chairman of Alba Trade Union, Mohammed Ali Makki, stated: “We take this opportunity to congratulate Bahrain’s Leadership on the National Dayand we sincerely thank Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors and the Executive Management for their continuous support to the Union. Opening a new headquarter is a step forward to further ensure the welfare of Alba’s employees as it surely underlines the healthy relationship between the Company’s Management and Unions.”
