Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital will continue its collaboration with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) by providing exclusive sports medicine services to top tennis players during the 2015 Qatar ExxonMobil Open, which will be held from 5th to 10th January 2015 at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex.
Committed to the well-being of sportspersons, Aspetar’s support of the tournament began in 2011 with a three-year contract with QTF. Renewed last year for another three years, the current contract will continue the partnership until 2016.
“We are proud of this distinguished partnership with Qatar Tennis Federation, and we continue to provide sports medicine care to this international tournament which brings together elite athletes in tennis. This partnership comes as part of our continued support to provide services and medical care for all international sporting events held in Qatar” said Dr Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of Aspetar.
As part of the collaboration, Aspetar, through its National Sports Medicine Programme (NSMP), will offer a range of comprehensive medical services to all participating athletes, including physical therapy and sports massages, in addition to ambulances and fully equipped clinics at the venue.
The Qatar ExxonMobil Open is an ATP World Tour 250 Series event which the QTF has been hosting since 1993. This year’s event will be the first tournament on the ATP World Tour calendar for 2015.
An exceptional list of players have been confirmed for the 23rd edition of the tournament, including world No.1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia, who is making his Doha debut, and defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain, who is making his comeback from an injury.
