Bahrain okays $3.97bn industrial projects since 2009

A top Bahraini official has said the government has approved industrial projects worth more than BD1.5bn ($3.97bn) since 2009, Trade Arabia has reported. Arabic daily newspaper Akhbar Al Khaleej has quoted Industry and Commerce Minister Hassan Fakhro saying that more than 300 of these 546 projects - worth BD942m - have already been granted licences. The ministry granted initial approval to set up 242 industrial projects worth more than BD495m in 2009 and 253 worth more than BD637m in 2010.
