Bank credit in Oman up 8%

According to figures released by the Omani central bank, the total bank credit of commercial banks in the sultanate during the first nine months of 2013 rose 8% to OR15.17bn from OR13.95bn in the same period of 2012, Muscat Daily has reported. Personal loans, worth OR6.02bn, accounted for 39.7% of the total bank credit, while the construction sector, with loans of OR1.5bn, took a 9.9% share and the services sector took 8.6%, followed by the manufacturing sector with an 8.3% share of the total credit at OR1.25bn.
