Bank Muscat is seeking bids from potential buyers for its brokerage operations in the sultanate, Muscat Daily has reported, citing three people with knowledge of the matter. Oman’s biggest bank by assets has requested proposals from other brokerages in the country, said the people. The sale doesn’t include the bank’s brokerage operations in Saudi Arabia, they said. Bank Muscat is also keeping its proprietary trading book in Oman, one of the people said.
