Bank Sohar concludes 2nd Staff Ramadan Football Tournament

With the end of the holy month of Ramadan came the finale of Bank Sohar’s in-house Ramadan Football Tournament following four weeks of intense football action. Conducted on July 24 and attended by a large number of staff and members of the executive management including Mr. Nasser Al Maawaly, DGM and Head of Internal Audit, and Mr. Salim Khamis Al Maskeri, Senior AGM of Branches, the finals saw the Retail Department take home top honours and the coveted Gold Cup.

Conceived as part of Bank Sohar’s philosophy of promoting a culture of healthy living among its staff, the tournament kicked off during the first week of the holy month. A total of eight teams, representing various departments of the bank, vied for top honours during two rounds of matches staged at the Bousher Football Field over the course of four weeks.

On this occasion, Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM of Human Resource and Corporate Support said, “Sharing the nation’s passion for the sport, the tournament generated a significant amount of interest amongst the staff. Each player demonstrated great enthusiasm and the eagerness to play together as a team; putting on a great show for the crowd right from the very start.”
“Such activities and events have a significant positive impact on enhancing communication, solidarity and team spirit among Bank Sohar’s staff and management and we are pleased to have been able to host this tournament in appreciation for their continued hard work,” she added.
