Bank Sohar sponsors student fees at Creative Centre for Rehabilitation

Bank Sohar has always demonstrated a strong commitment towards the community. Within this framework, Bank Sohar has supported the Creative Centre for Rehabilitation through providing educational fees for two students for a period of one year. The fees will go towards the identification of each child’s unique educational needs and providing any therapy or educational service the child may need.

The support in the form of a donation was handed over to Mr. Nabil Dur Mohammed Al-Balushi, Chairman of the Creative Centre for Rehabilitation, by Mr. Mazin Mahmood Al Raisi, AGM & Head Marketing & Publicity of Bank Sohar, at the Bank Sohar Head Office. This donation marks the fourth consecutive year of contributions by the Bank to the Creative Centre for Rehabilitation.

Highlighting the importance of the charitable support, Ms. Munira Abdulnabi Macki, DGM of Human Resource and Corporate Support at Bank Sohar said, “The first few years of any child’s life can shape his or her entire future. Through this contribution, we will provide children facing unique challenges with the resources and support required to help them excel in school, graduate and develop the life skills and knowledge for a successful future.”

The Creative Centre for Rehabilitation is dedicated to providing multidisciplinary evaluations for children and determine if they have a disability that requires specialised interventions. And if so, will identify each child’s unique educational needs and determine of what type of therapy or educational service the child may require. They are committed to working collaboratively with families to help all children reach their highest potential. This contribution will ensure that some of these children will have one year of their educational fees covered completely by Bank Sohar.

“We are motivated and inspired by Bank Sohar’s commitment to our mission and programs and for standing by us over the past four years,” said Mr. Nabil Dur Mohammed Al-Balushi, Chairman of the Creative Centre for Rehabilitation. “The position of leadership, which Bank Sohar has taken with its CSR initiatives in the Sultanate, is truly inspiring. It is an honour to work together with them to support young citizens who truly require our assistance on a path towards success and help them evolve into valuable contributing members of the community.”

“Giving back to the community is more than just donating a monetary value. It is about dedicating time and effort to make a difference in these children’s lives,” added Ms. Munira Macki. “This is why we at Bank Sohar continue our support for such noble causes. We believe ourselves to be a part of the community and the role we play here as a leading private sector organisation, is essential in positively contributing to the development and sustainability of the society.”

Bank Sohar has been actively engaging in various social, educational and environmental initiatives as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The CSR initiatives of the Bank are primarily focused at helping the youth and disadvantaged members of our community improve their living standards and assist them in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As recognition towards their initiative under the Corporate Social area, Bank Sohar has received numerous local, regional and international awards and titles since its inception.
