BankDhofar, showing commitment to the community and stressing its role as an integral member of society, marked World Food Day in partnership with Dar Al Atta’a Association.
Sami Omar Al Zadjali, Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications at BankDhofar, said: “World Food Day is a day of action against hunger. On October 16, people around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate hunger. Events and public awareness campaigns are organised worldwide to engage diverse audiences in action against hunger. We at BankDhofar have partnered with Dar Al Atta’a Association to encourage volunteers and donors to give away non-perishable food items which will be distributed to families across Oman.”
This year Dar al Atta’a collaborated with a number of organisations, including schools, public and private sectors institutions to collect enough food to feed a large number of families in different parts of the Sultanate.
“We at BankDhofar work towards supporting sustainable CSR initiatives and we invest in long term objectives of all social support and community activities. We have strategic partnerships with various public and private sector organisations, as well as non-profit and charitable organisations to help us extend our outreach and play a proactive role in the community. BankDhofar has proudly supported numerous initiatives, institutions and organisations, providing essential services to the community,” added Al Zadjali.
Taking proactive steps on the path of the Sultanate’s social development and prosperity, BankDhofar puts corporate social responsibility at the forefront of its commitments. Community and social awareness campaigns, as well as a strong focus on engaging staff, are being promoted across the bank through various channels. More than just financial support and fund-raising, BankDhofar is dedicated to sustainable philanthropy causes, participating in events and activities across the Sultanate, collaborating with various organisations and non-profit associations to reinforce its social responsibility and community outreach programmes.
