Boecker honored by Ministry of Environment and UNDP for transparent reporting of CO2 emissions

Under the patronage and in presence of H.E. Nazem El-Khoury, the Minister of Environment, the United Nations Development Programme and the Ministry of Environment honored Boecker for following its latest pioneering initiatives in implementing a Carbon Management Strategy reporting their Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the first of its kind drive in the public health sector in the region. The award was presented by the Minister of Environment, H.E. Nazem El Khoury to Boecker represented by its Country Manager Bana Kobrosly.

This ceremony attended by high profile executives and officials from Lebanese companies UNDP as well as environment experts was held on December 19th, 2013 at the Ministry of Environment premises.

Recently, Boecker has signed a contract with V4 advisors to conduct the Greenhouse Gas Auditing Project, which involves the utilization of the consultancy’s Corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) calculator. With this first of its kind push in the regional public health sector, Boecker insures the offset of the GHG emissions produced by its daily business activities.

Thanking the Ministry of Environment and UNDP, for their recognition of Boecker’s green efforts, Mr. Michel Bayoud, Boecker’s CEO reiterated the company’s unwavering commitment to the environment by adopting international tools and protocols to control Boecker’s GHG footprint. He added: “As we set the example in this sector, we look forward for the endorsement of competent ministries and international bodies in encouraging companies to follow greener policies, hence fostering an efficient cooperative Public Private Partnership (PPP) to create a greener economy.”

The ceremony awarded commercial companies for their work in reporting GHG emissions as part of the Ministry’s approach to partner with the private sector in the global fight against climate change.
